Two Heads 2013

Signed and numbered / Edition of 6

Silkscreen on paper, 60 x 40 cm

Are there two of me?  The one that claims to be me , the “I, me, mine” character, sometimes referred to as the egocentric personality. One could say me with a small s, living in the world of duality. Often associated  with ‘suffering’. Hence the red face?

The other, much more mysterious, that is the ‘being’ immersed in the paradigm that everything is t6tally connected, as One, the ‘All That There Is’ , ‘Isness’ itself,  and hence living in a non-dual space. I AM with a large S. One has to think very differently from conventionally here. Looking , in a sense, inwards. The blue face , on its side, in contemplative integrating and healing mode?

Nonduality is full of paradoxes. A paradox is something that contains apparent opposites and the essence of non-duality is the union of opposites.

One of the interesting paradoxes is that it is impossible to talk about it meaningfully. Almost any description used is false and misleading. So art is a perfect way to explore the topic of 'Who am I'?
